MOT renewal date
I know that if your car has an existing MOT you can renew it up to one month (minus a day) prior to it's due date without changing its official anniversary.
When it is the cars first MOT that is due (three years after first registration), does the same apply? or does getting the first MOT in advance of the anniversary of first registration effectively shift the subsequent due date?
Sorry if this is a daft question but would appreciate clarification if possible - thanks.

Same rules for first MOT as any other year.2

If you have the first MOT done up to a month early, the next MOT date will be 12 months from the registration date, not from the date it was actually done.1

Got my first mot 3 weeks before it was due.
So had 1 year and 3 weeks on it.1 -
Back in the late 1990s Motability started having MOTs done at 2 years 9 months. Caused all sorts of problems.
