PIP and working question

Hi. Recently I have become extremely ill. I struggle to walk, talk and even struggle to chew my own food, my M.E is so severe, I'm bed bound. I am applying for PIP.
I still manage to go on my computer about 5-10 minutes each hour, and wondered if I would be allowed to work in this time? Or would this still affect my PIP application?
I just want to have a purpose and feel like I'm achieving... something!
Thanks :)

Work and PIP are unrelated, many people work and get PIP.

Do expect a battle to get the correct award with M.E. The forum will help you if you need it. Please don't take it personally if you have an assessment and it comes back like you're this superperson that can leap tall buildings. Hopefully you will get one that's totally honest, but don't be put off if it isn't.

  • Oh wow! Ok! I wish I could be a superperson that can leap tall buildings!!! Ok, fingers crossed I get a fair assessment, thanks for the heads up :)

I wish you the best with it.

Just to note you say 'recently', for PIP you have to have had the level of difficulties for 3 months.  (I know time for us feels very different so I know that 'recent' is extremely subjective, but just a heads-up just in case you've not been so very ill for that long yet.)  No doubt by the time they assess you it will be well past 3 months, but they'll backdate the payment to when the 3 months starts if it's not already at the time you apply.
  • Thank you so much Spoonie_Turtle I've had M.E for 18 years, and I've had ups and downs, but since Christmas it's a whole lot worse. Thank you for taking the time to reply :) and your advice :)
