No stopping charge

So back in October I was sent an a charge notice from a private company for stopping at a zebra crossing and letting my friend hop in at the airport. I was told by a friend since it was a private charge its not enforceable unless they take you to court and they're unlikely to bother. Well today I received an intention if i don't pay I. 14 days they will issue court proceedings.. it was my first time at the airport and was driving in at night so I didn't really notice the signs saying no stop £100 fine. Plus I'd have had to stop at the zebra crossing regardless as there's someone standing there. But yeah I'm just looking for some advice. If you let me know what other info you need I can provide it.
Many thanks

Many thanksHi, and welcome! You won't be paying.
We've seen this sort of case before from VCS.
Search the forum for:
VCS Airport zebra crossing.
First step is complain to the Airport, obviously! Which Airport?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Reading the other threads. Does it matter if I stopped solely to let my friend climb in and does it matter if I initially appealed the letter because I was outside the 14 days as I was on a trip to England when this happened and wasn't back home to NI before the 14 dag period to pay the reduced fee was (so technically identified myself as the driver)0

As you're in Northern Ireland, ignore VCS. They cannot enforce against you there. You will probably receive a few snotty letters, but again, ignore.fauss23 said:Reading the other threads. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
