If its purely about cashback, Chase debit card at 1% is the best return.

I wish more credit cards would offer rewards. I've gotten into stoozing instead, especially with all the 0% cc offers and savings accounts with good rates.

Seriously, it it really worth the bother for 0.25%/0.5% cashback? I’m genuinely curious what people think about this. I’m a CC skeptic nowadays having made all the mistakes, been sucked in by all the points and cashback offers (and they used to be way better than they are today), and so I just want to know why anyone would waste time scrabbling after 0.25% cashback.
I use a Barclaycard Rewards card for most of my spending. It works in exactly the same way as paying with any other card, so no time is wasted, and once a year the cashback is credited to the account with no action by me whatsoever, so no scrabbling either.

So your glib presumption that people "waste time scrabbling after" 0.25% cashback seems to be completely wrong.
