The debt collection service have taken me to small claims regarding a parking fine. The status at the moment is court have said the debt agency wish to mediate over the fine. ..I agreed and sent the papers back. How can I be sure that this is a genuine case because I've never heard of debt mediation for just a parking fine from a private parking company...how do they conduct a mediation session and where? How long does it take from me agreeing mediation to actually getting it? CAN ANYONE HELP PLEASE?

The debt collection service have taken me to small claims regarding a parking fineNo they haven't. Debt collection agencies (DRA) don't take people to court over parking charges. Private parking companies (PPC) do, via solicitors, not DRAs.court have said the debt agency wish to mediate over the fineDRA's are not involved in mediation. How can I be sure that this is a genuine case because I've never heard of debt mediationIt will be real.how do they conduct a mediation session and where?By phone, in the comfort of your own home.for just a parking fineIt's not a 'fine'.
Who is involved here? Name of PPC? Name of DRA?
Have you read the NEWBIES FAQ Announcement - where almost all the questions you raise, and many you haven't thought about yet, are covered. This is nothing to spook or panic you. Help is always available here. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

This is the third thread you have started about private parking tickets or the same ticket I cannot work out which. You don't take any notice of any advice, you have been told these are not "fines", there is no such organisation as "The Debt Collection Service", you don't have an understanding of the blue badge scheme, you have agreed to mediation (a bad idea but too late) which you haven't researched, you don't return to your threads, you don't answer questions put to you, but just come back with yet another vague post, how do you expect people to be able to help you?Every regular on here would help but you have to keep things together, you have to answer questions, you have to take in the advice, you have to slow down and stop making panic decisions, and you have to re-engage with us.You have opted for mediation which will take its course over a phone call, but it will not be biased in your favour, just don't let them bully you accept nothing.4

it is vitally important that you get an understanding of this, as you are setting yourself up for an expensive fall, unless that is what you want.
with regards to mediation, how much do you what them to pay you for all of this? From the Plain Language Commission:

Cancel the Mediation for the reasons already stated in the NEWBIES thread where we explain why not to do it.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
