Has anyone grown aubergine plants? (Mine doesn't look like one.)

This grew from a pot of previously sown aubergine seeds.  Any ideas what it is?  Thanks.

Looks like a dahlia to me. I like the purple leaved kinds myself. :)

I thought Dahlia at first, but could it be Elderflower? (Very pungent when crushed.)

    My first thought was Elder.
Heck I've seen a lot of them in my time they do seed well. Only needs a visiting bird to drop a fruit or from the other end, the seed :)

One way to know for (almost sure) is to use the plant identifier app. Or find a friend who has it.

The only normal people you know are the ones you don’t know very well

I tend to agree now. While it does look dahlia-ish, it looks even more elder-ish. :)

Could it be ground elder ?

If it is, don't plant it out in the garden, or you'll never get rid of it again.

Thanks FreeBear, I've had a read about how "invasive" ground elder is.  Whatever it is, I wont be planting it out in the garden.
