Guttering/Drainage ideas

Hey guys, the guttering and drainage on my summerhouse is no longer sufficient after a new porcelain patio was out in. Basically the old stones would absorb some of the excess water and then there was a big gap in the paving for a plant, which meant a lot soaked into soil. None of this happens now!

I have put in a water but, 100l, however, this gets full up very quickly and I find myself emptying it like a mad man on a sinking boat!

Also, where the guttering still goes to the ground it seems to leak/drip a bit.

My ideas..

1. Get another water but, join with the t piece on the existing one, stash behind those plants.

2. Get a hose pipe off the second one and put it into a border further down the garden.

3. Perhaps some Ct1 or similar into the guttering join where the water but connector is?

4. I need something else besides that woefully inadequate grey thing, which is a toy sink from an IKEA you kitchen lol.. Not sure what yet though

Any other ideas how I could sort this are much appreciated!

There isn't one until you get to the house, so basically the entire garden and patio, and then it's porcelain paved, so can't really connect into any drain :(

Dig out the concrete the water butt is standing on. Dig a large hole in the flower bed on the left (~1m deep). Drop a storm crate¹ in to the hole covered with some geotextile. Run a length of soil pipe across to where the downpipe is, and fit a debris interceptor² to the base. Place some old concrete paving slabs on top of the storm crate, and then fill in the hole & reinstate the concrete.

Thanks for the comprehensive reply, certainly seems like the proper way to do it! I think I may have to think of something a little less sophisticated. Taking up the patio that's just been laid, and digging a huge hole in a bed which my wife's earmarked for a large acer, is likely to be a non starter!

I did wonder if I had a length of hose the length of the border, burried just below the surface, with holes stabbed/drilled into it whether this would work, and as a, bonus, be a watering system for the garden too.

I'm sure there's something else a bit more sophisticated but not quite to the extent you're suggesting. Interesting thou, just read sbout soakaways for a while!

Quick & dirty method - Put a 90 degree elbow at the bottom of the downpipe, and run a short section across to the flower boarder to the left. If need be, sick a few bricks underneath the horizontal section to give it some support. Won't look as pretty, but most of it could be hidden behind the water butt.
Using a length of garden hose as an overflow is OK up to a point, but there is a limit to how much water can flow through. During a torrential downpour, it would get overwhelmed and hen the water butt would overflow.
