Morning folks. Slight early morning confusion.Yesterday I was MIA after sleeping later than usual. I had an M&S order to collect in Oban which I combined with a visit to friends. The other day I had chipped an already chipped side plate so decided to replace it and the other three damaged ones. On the way home I collected a print which my friends in Newcastle gave me on my recent visit to them and I had left at the framers. It's of my favourite view of Newcastle, coming down the hill from Gateshead to cross the Swing Bridge into Newcastle from which the cathedral, castle, Moot Hall and Vermont Hotel are all in the same eyeline. All these ancient buildings always brought a smile to my face, I found it much more interesting than crossing the Tyne Bridge. 😀 I'll hang it later today.
Later on I cleared out the fridge of OOD yogurt etc. ☹️ All containers washed out and in the recycling bag.Today I'm going back to my aquacyling class though I doubt my knee will be happy. I'll do the arm stuff at least. Then I have another neck and shoulder massage which I'm looking forward to. And there's the monthly banking to do. I've lots of salady bits to have for lunch.Happy Wednesday to all.10 -
Morning all
Its cold and damp here feels like the beginning of winter and not summer 😩 our taxi driver from the airport said that we will have 7 days of this and then another heatwave - let’s hope he is right !
Off to collect my private client today and take him to work, it’s an easy way to break me back into work as he is so lovely and easy going, we will do some shopping on the way home.
Dinner tonight will be something with mince maybe a nice chilli with rice. I did about four loads of washing yesterday all washed dried and put away, I have just put another one on this morning and there is one more to do and then we are up to date.
Have good days all and take care xx10 -
Morning everyone Gers I wish someone would give me a neck and shoulder massage mines killing me well it is getting a bit better but waking me up and by the end of the day it’s agony but I do think it’s unknotting a bit each day it’s probably rusty with all this rain it is absolutely pouring down this morning and I think it’s set in for the next couple of days I hope this weather picks up a bit my son and his family are going down to Yorkshire for a week in a cottage on Friday it has a hot tub let’s hope it’s covered . Off to work in a minute I will pop back for a quick sandwich and a cuppa. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing10

Morning All
Not very promising this morning but we've had a few days when the morning has been showery and the afternoon is brighter, hoping this is the case today.
The living room is finished! Really pleased with how it looks - need my handy neighbour to come over and put the blinds back up for me. The curtains will have to wait until the new pole arrives, I've had to order it. It's a bay window and the old pole had brackets half way along the pole so I couldn't pull the curtains all the way - the new one is a different set up. I bought a new rug so it's all coming together. Also got a new rug for the kitchen so will take the old one to the tip on my way to the allotment this morning.
There are very overdue library books to take back, I made a rotten selection this time and have been too busy to read! Must try harder.
Enjoy your class and the massage Gers.
Hope you have a good catch up with your friend Scarlet.
Sounds like you had a very relaxing holiday Ruby - well deserved.
I'm going to have a day of getting things done, I made some rhubarb and ginger jam yesterday and there's so much rhubarb I'll make more today. The courgette glut is arriving so will have to deal with those too.
Have a good day. Take care. XX10 -
Hi everyone,
Didn't manage to post yesterday it was a bit full on. We had a bit of a car problem as L and B's had to be mot'd so by half past nine I had: driven Steve to the golf club, picked Brian up from the mot garage, taken Laura to her new treatment rooms in a village 6 miles away and dropped Esben off at nursery. I then looked after Esther who wasn't her usual sunny self because she is teething.
On the upside Laura had a good day and now has enough bookings to break even this month which is good for a start-up and I'm sure she'll get more so that she actually makes a profit.
This morning I have to go for a chest x-ray, hopefully it won't take too long and then Laura and I are going to see the Barbie movie, not words I ever thought I'd say.
Have a good day.10 -
Very heavy rain during the night. Yellow weather warning for later today.
J has arrived to do some painting.
Trying to sign in to order medication but it won't let me.
No SA outing today as officer is unwell.
Think I will have a nsd and a day at home.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Morning folks and grrr! A lengthy screed has just shot off into the ether so just a brief one as I cba typing it all again.
It goes without saying it's another wet day. Torrential first thing but eased a bit now. Perfect weather - not - for bus trip day!! If it's Skipton only the hardiest stallholders will be setting up in this stuff. I think an early lunch will be on the cards, then putting the world to rights over our bottle of wine.
My Ocado delivery this morning arrived on the dot at 7.30 with nothing oos or subbed. All now away and the fridge has lost the Mother Hubbard look.
Currently nursing a severed finger! DS finally managed to beat the weather yesterday afternoon to cut the wayward hedge and, in his role as assistant, I managed to cut my little finger badly. I thought it was never going to stop bleeding and went through numerous pads and plasters. I have yet to "undress" it to see what it looks like this morning. That's my next job but the plasters look a mess. More plasters are at the ready.
Bye for now folks and have a good day if you can. ((HUGS)) for the poorlies and MIA. RUBY glad to read you had a good holiday. Take care all be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"10 -
Morning all, it was an early start for me as DS1s mate who he's helping this week was meant to pick him up at 5.30. I heard him moving about and made him a coffee in his insulated mug to take with him. In the end it was 10 to 6 but that was me awake good and proper. Decided not to bother swimming today as it's so wet I'll be soaked before I even get in the pool.Last night I had leftover beef stew with cauli rice, DH had scampi and chips, DS wasnt back but had texted to say he didn't need tea, so an easy mealtime for me. I had a disastrous trip to the next little town, the bus got stuck in roadworks, & all the passengers waiting at 1 stop were told they couldn't get on as it was next to temp. traffic lights . They were on red and the driver opened the doors to say the stop wasn't in use and she'd get in bother if she let them on. Lots of shouting ensued, she rang her boss who said she couldn't let them on. I could see the would be passengers point- we were stopped , in a queue, and the doors were opened. In the end they all stomped off to a stop further back.DH is at home today and has just informed me he wants to go to Bury market, so better get ready.RR glad you enjoyed your hol- we went to Skopelos years ago on a boat trip from Skiathos, it must have got a lot more popular.Take care all x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning all and thanks for the start @nmlc - enjoy your half day off!
I am taking DDad for his micro suction appointment this morning. Let's hope there is some improvement. We saw Oppenheimer at the iSense last night and even I struggled to follow the dialogue in parts as the background music was excessive. May have been better in a non-iSense screen but we didn't get a choice. DH and I had to top up our monthly limitless subscription by £5 each and DDad and DS2 were £17.50 each so +£45 for the pleasure of seeing it! It's a good movie though and some great performances.
Dinner tonight is M&S chicken flatties which chips and veg - I will just have the veg. I have some washing to do but we are due rain so it will have to dry indoors.
That finger injury sounds painful @TravellingAbuela - hope it's not your wine glass lifting hand.
Well done on the decorating @camelot1001 x
Have a good day everyone,
Coxy
