Main dealer cannot repair car

My husband realised the clutch was slipping on our 2018 Kia. We ring the Kia dealership we use for servicing who tell us they can't do the repair till late September.

We have had to take it elsewhere as we are going on holiday and need it. The car is still under warranty. We are aware the guarantee on the clutch was past so that isn't an issue.

However, when they look at the clutch they see the clutch has been damaged by oil leaking on the clutch from the gearbox, so now we need not only a clutch but had to have the gearbox reconditioned.

As the fault is due to the gearbox we feel Kia should cough up as it not a straight forward clutch replacement.

Of course their argument is we should have taken it to a Kia workshop but they couldn't  do it for two months. How do we stand with this does anyone know.
