ford Mondeo DPF problems

I am Amber light in ford mondeo 2009
I took the car for a dealer on  28 July 2023
Within 2 week i got Engine Malfunction alert and i took to ford service center and they told
it could be due to the cut in DPF pipe and cut in Catalytic convetor

also i felt car losing acceleration at somepoint during driving

I have no idea about cars apart from driving it
I dont know if these are majors problem if this can be fixed for low cost

the dealer from which i took the car told they will fix it , (the engine malfunction alert )
dont know what exactly they will do , i guess they will some temporary workaround

Kindly advise what should i do

You can see someone has bridged the gap in the smaller, DPF pipe with a short piece of rubber hose.

That should fix that, but personally I would have put a couple of jubilee clips on each end of the hose in case it worked loose, but that's me, I can't see how tight that hose is from here.

There is no photo evidence that the cut in the larger cat pipe, by the flange to the DPF has been repaired.
It presume they could/would have welded it up, it's not difficult from where it is.

As for why these two parts are damaged in the first place, I can only suggest vandalism.
Someone has had a go at them to crudely disable the DPF because it's likely blocked or due to the cars age, full of ash (the normal by-product of DPF burning the soot).

The engines ECU will detect pressure in the exhaust and if that pressure is high, it means a regeneration needs to happen.
Cutting the exhaust and the ECU will never detect enough back pressure to start a regen.

If both cuts have been repaired and there is still a DPF/regen issue then expect the light to return at some point.
If not, then all's reasonably good.
