Rant: DVLA driving license renewal

Just found out when trying to renew my driving license online that, unless the middle names on your passport and driving license match, you can't use the service. So on my passport, my two middle names are spelt out in full. On my driving license, one of them is just the initial letter. DVLA don't tell you that when applying, they just fail your application and tell you to apply again in 24 hours, which I did, only to fail again.
On calling the DVLA I now find I have to use the Post Office to apply in person. Not only is that more expensive, but my nearest Post Office is an hour's drive away. The DVLA is an idiotic service, but I think many of us know that.

No passport for me, 20 years out of date..The post office system works very well when its working.During Covid I had to renew my Licence, Did it on Thursday and got Licence back on Wednesday.The DVLA is an idiotic service, ofcourse its is is govenment run.
