should we install PV in our garage conversion?

Hi everyone, assuming we get planning permission we're converting our external garage and store to a separate annex.  We're mid 60's and unsure whether we'll be able to stay in our existing house for ever (thinking cost of residential care in the future!).  Should we put PVs up when we convert given it's unlikely we'll recoup the cost?

If you get the correct price the break even can be be as little as 5 years.

Why not on the house? More is usually better.

Provided the roof faces somewhere between east through south to west, and gets a reasonable view of the sky, I agree with markin that (at current electricity prices, and based on recent PV quotes shared on the Green and Ethical forum) a system could pay back in 5-7 years.
If you're in your mid-60s and in typical health you can expect to live for another 20 years.
