Logging on to my account to see if there was a new fix as it's the end of the month ...

Go to 'Change Tariff' in the left hand menu and select to stay with the current payment method. For me Essentials Exclusive has been replaced with EDF Essentials, the same prices as the previous fix offer but the end date now 31 Aug 2024.

Update 17 Aug 23
The EDF Essentials fix offer has been extended until 30 Sep 24. I am on E7 and the night rate tariff offer for my region has come down slightly from the previous fix offer (31 Aug 24), the day rate and SC are unchanged

So comparing 30 Sep 24 Fix to the SVT (Eastern) ...
Day 44.43p (SVT 44.16p)
Night 8.59p (SVT 8.58p)
Standing charge 43.76p (SVT 43.76p)

Update 24 Aug 23
There are now two EDF Essentials fixes, one until 30 Sep 24 and one until 30 Sep 26. They are both showing the same rates (give or take 0.01p) as the SVT. This is on my dashboard and presume it is the same for others.

My supply - electric only, economy 7, Eastern, DD whole of bill monthly ... still on SVT.

Superseded 21 Oct 23

Have you switched? I can't make my mind up. I guess I have another month to mull it over.

I haven't switched yet.  I probably should to bank that 8p off peak for a year.  Just in case EDF decide to rebalance the peak/off peak ratio

If I was in your shoes dunstonh, I think I would also bank a fixed deal to protect that 8p off peak rate.

I haven't fixed yet either and I have to own up to being a bit of a gambler by nature, stick or twist, twist or stick ... I don't know ... sorry I'm a bit indecisive ... or am I ...

Have you committed yet?   I took the August version.

    @dunstonh

Have you committed yet? - no  I took the August version - I know.

I may stay SVT, but then again ? I don't like the £75 penalty (I think) for switching and I don't like the random billing (but not as bad as E.ON Next).

I know there are forecasts for the next few quarters and the world may turn upside down again, but I don't need the certainty of a fix.

As the tariff is the same name it may be just a soft switch from the August to the new tariff terms ... I hope  :).

    Just a quick update ...

I was just on the phone to EDF and asked about a 'soft switch' as I put it and was told no, it would need to be a new quote and switch, even though it's under the same tariff name.

One more thing, the 'Change Tariff' EDF Essentials fix offer rates (electricity E7 Eastern DD) have changed for me (since 17th Aug): day now 44.15p (44.43p) night 8.57p (8.59p) still until 30 Sep 2024. This puts it 0.01p below the SVT day and night rates.
