Rejecting faulty 2nd hand car bought from a dealer

Can anyone offer  any advice concerning a car I bought just over a week ago from a dealer.  Faults appeared and the dealer says he would fix them. I brought the car back to him. He says he has fixed the faults, but they are not fixed at all. I wanted to have an independent garage identify  and do the repairs, at his expense, but he refuses point blank  to let me do that. I asked to return the car for a refund, and he also refuses to let me do that. He’s become  quite aggressive too.

Any help gratefully received

thank you

you should be able to reject the goods under the Consumer Rights Act.

What exactly are the faults? You say they 'appeared' so presumably they were not there when you test drove or collected the car?

What is the age and mileage of the car?

How did you pay for it?

I wanted to have an independent garage identify

You can do that, at your expense. But very few garages will pay another garage to do repairs.
