Just a few yards further to Tesco Wrexham and their favourite car park manager, Horizon.Busy morning with plenty of customers. I don’t think that entrance sign is what is required by the British Parking Association? Not sure whether it’s a Tesco sign or a Horizon one? £70 parking charge from Horizon, 100 yards away £100 from Ocean, 50 yards away, no need for any penalties from the social club. Exposes the lie that deterrents are essential.2

While at Tesco Wrexham ..Look who I spotted. And he spotted me taking his picture. He came waddling back towards me to find out what I was doing, I just melted back among the cars and vans, but I could spot that he wasn’t a happy bunny!3

Just a mile from the town centre alongside a large residential area, with always full on-street parking, is Farm Foods and its car park which never seems stretched. No parking company anywhere near, Farm Foods own signs seem to be respected by their neighbours, who could easily overwhelm this car park with abusive parking, but, no evidence at all of the BPA carmageddon doom-mongering here.

Back to Tesco for a moment, looks like they’re going to be prosecuting the boy racer community, even threatening to confiscate or destroy vehicles. Good luck with that I think.2

And finally from me, for now, is Morrisons and Euro Car Parks. On the outskirts of the city, where it’s £100 if you’re there for over 3 hours, or if you forget something and return again in 2 hours. As the site is operated on behalf of Morrisons, and shown on the actual sign at the bottom, I think I’ve read somewhere on this forum that Euro can’t take you to court in their own name. Is that right?
Hope all my previous photos help in some way.1 -
Euro don't sue. Not sure why.
That's another sticker - very cheap signage alterations are normal for PPC World. Disproves the suggestion it costs £150 per sign, LOL!Thankyou everyone; we now have evidence from England, Scotland & Wales but not every town & City by any means, so keep 'em coming!
Could do with London boroughs where I know there are perfectly good car parks operated with a barrier and/or polite signs (e.g. hotels or churches?) and I'm certain not all Supermarkets in London areas are set at £100.
Evidence is key.
The new Football season might reap some good photos of stewarding of cars in large sites with no PPC needed?
Please keep your eyes peeled and phones ready.
Football car parks and park & ride or overflow car parks are very commonly PPC free, extremely busy but with stewards directing people. This shows that for consumer-focussed landowners, the proper meaning of 'parking management' doesn't require a 'big stick' £ penalty.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
