Decent reason/s to NOT get a Smart meter installed??

There is literally no coherent argument to resist smart meters.  

But I’m glad people do because I can’t help but feel a glow when I hear of them paying full price for power while today Octopus is paying to do my laundry and cooking. 

I am NOT a vaxer or a Brexit voter by any means but I am very cautious about switching to smart meters for gas/electricity following a bad experience with Thames Water when they switched my analogue meter to a Smart meter. Unknown to me they failed to activate the new meter for a whole year and used estimated readings based on the old meter. Then they suddenly announced a year  later that I had a massive leak, so large that I was supposed to be losing 28 L per hour. My floor would have collapsed. but they refused to accept any possible problem with the smart meter until the alleged leak had been dealt with. There was a small leak in an old joint but nothing like this much. Eventually I did get a massive refund from TW but they never conceded their errors/any fault with the meter.
