WIFI CONNECTIONS

I have just upgrade my pc to Windows 11, and wishing I hadn't.  The router is in the lounge, and I use the laptop/printer at the back of te bungalow.  I have a WD MyCloud, and also a Tenda Nova AC1200 Mesh system.

All was pretty much OK, apart from the HP Laptop and Printer both at the side of each other didn't always talk under Windows 10.

I spoke with WD who talked me though the updates which needed to be done to Windows 11 to access the WD MyCloud locally, I could connect via the web, but I prefer use it via Windows Exporer.  WD MyCloud connected to the route via Ethernet.  Once I did the updates, it did connect as I wished, but then would drop in and out, and would disappear if I looked at the network on Windows Explorer.  While doing doing both my iphone and ipad would connect to the MyCloud via their app.

Tried various methods working with them, and in the end unplugged the Mesh Boxes, and I have connections I wish, but then the wifi cameras, which are outside will not connect, obvious just too far from the signal.   The signal in the back on my laptop is small, but works adequately for what I use with it.

Sorry for the long explanation, but in my mind, if I can make my laptop and printer, link to the Plusnet Router Wifi, and not the Nova, then it would possibly resolve this.

How can I do this?

If the laptop and printer are side by side then why not connect them by USB cable?
It should also be faster than printing over wifi.

But then it won't print from other laptop or pad or phone, yes if the printer was the only problem, I could do that, not easy as a very small laptop, with one usb, but using it with keyboard mouse and screen, but does not solve the other problems.

Upgrading Windows doesn't (or shouldn't) make any difference to wireless connectivity.  If it connected before it should connect now, and upgrading Windows doesn't make the receiver distance on your cameras any shorter than it was previously, though since you mention disconnecting the Mesh that's probably why you have problems now.

The MyCloud thing is almost certainly an SMB issue, v1 of which has been heavily depreciated in Windows for years and in 11 isn't even present from the off.
    This might be of interest:

You can set the printer up via USB and then "share" it and other WIndows machins should be able to print to it.  The tablet/pad/phone may not though, and that's where you will need to set the printer up properly - wireless and to the router.  The phones/pad probably use an app.
