Hello again, it's a gloomy grey start here, we had a lovely day yesterday, warm and sunny - I suppose it's unreasonable to expect two nice days in a row!I don't go into Durham much Izzy, all I did there yesterday was go to the bank, buy a couple of birthday cards at WH, and get the bus home, didn't even go in any of the chazzers.Tbh I'm trying not to spend much, we've had an expensive couple of months and I could do with saving a bit.I'm visiting a friend this morning, she's just a few minutes walk away, then I'll do a bit of food shopping.Nothing else planned, there's ironing, the eternal ironing, and the usual jobs.I lost my card making mojo but I can feel it coming back so I might go through my stuff and wait for inspiration.Where is Nanny I wonder, she hasn't posted for a while, hope she is ok.Hope you feel better soon Camelot, maybe Covid has weakened your immune sysytem.Thinking of anyone else who is not feeling too good, take care folks.13

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. Yesterday's forecast was right in that we didn't have any rain but sadly the sun didn't appear until 5 pm. Today I will take as I find as I am fed up of getting my hopes built up a little bit!
I am thinking I might trip off on the bus to Harrogate again today as it made a nice change a few weeks back and I can visit the shops I didn't have time to pop in then. Plus it's a nice run over the moors a lot of the way.
Have a nice day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all in need of them. I too am wondering about NAN. Someone said yesterday she may have got locked out when we were updated. I hope that's the case. Take care all be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"12 -
Morning folks, it's another promising start to the day here though rain is forecast after noon.My only excitement yesterday was a quick trip into town to take rubbish to the dump and collect some meds. There's a new system from the GP and pharmacy so a year long prescription had been put in place which is doled out at the usual two-monthly doses without me having to order it. It's a pity that none-one told me about it and it took two phone calls to the surgery and a bit of Googling to find out. 🤔
Today I'm heading down the peninsula again for a haircut. My experiment with longer hair is really annoying me, I think it's a combination of it being a longer length plus not being thinned down as much which is causing me problems. There's just too much of it, a friend commented on my 'bouffant' look the other day. 😂 So I'm going for an emergency cut. The pity is that my late DM had such thin and sparse hair that it hardly covered her scalp and so often enjoyed feeling my full head of hair. In complete contrast my late DD had thick lustrous hair all his life. Lustrous because he used Brylcreem to control it.Hugs to our poorlies. Happy Saturday to all.12 -
Morning All
Thanks for the start Scarlet, well done on avoiding the shops!
It was nice and sunny when I got up but it's clouding over now. Yesterday's washing dried quickly, including the living room curtains (that say dry clean only).
The curtains came down as I am painting in the living room, the curtain pole seems to be past it's best so will have to look for a new one, tricky to find one I like for a bay window with eyelet curtains. I'm pacing myself with the painting, don't want to get overwhelmed again and the little one is coming for a sleepover tonight so I need it to be fairly straight for her.
Shopping and the allotment this morning, it's the Pipe Band Championships locally so would like to get things done before the traffic gets silly.
Happy haircut Gers.
Enjoy your trip out TA.
Hope you're ok Nanny.
Hope you're all well, take care. XX11 -
Morning all; the sun is shining here at the moment and I have some washing in the machine.
Yesterday's walk was fun; we seemed to go on quite a few overgrown footpaths so felt we were doing our bit for the community in walking them. One stile was completely overgrown and our friend's secateurs were put to good use. We had a delicious pub lunch afterwards too. The pub had a special fish menu so I had skate wings; something I hadn't had for years.
Came home and slumped in front of the tv to watch the Test Match and didn't do much else all day!
If I'm going out today then it will have to be this morning, as we're forecast rain for the rest of the day.
Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Morning everyone Scarlet I know what you mean about trying to save some money I start the month well but prices have gone up so much I seam to be spending more and more I have a freezer full of food but I’ve been to Lidl this morning and got a six pack of chops and a six pack of salmon two pounds each they have been squeezed in I nearly took my fingers off doing it but it was a bargain I only went for eggs . Happy haircut Gers I have really thick hair and I keep it short I get it cut every four weeks I tried to let it grow for my sons wedding last year but I couldn’t persevere with it I ended up looking like Lego man .enjoy Harrogate TA I’ve got housework and dog walking but it’s nice and sunny but showers are forecast later and all day tomorrow. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing8

Morning all, we seem to have had rain and sunny spells already, I just about avoided getting wet when dogwalking.Gers, my hair is pretty thin and can get really straggly when it gets longer, but happy haircut this time! Izzy your Lego Man comment made me smileScarlet I'm a bit the same with my cardmaking too- I've bought the last few I needed. Trouble is I've sooo much equipment.TA, enjoy your trip, I love a bus ride over the moors.Camelot sounds like you have a busy day ahead.Sounds like a good walk WL- I have to admit to taking my secateurs out sometimes when my dog walk route gets a bit overgrownWe all enjoyed the trip with DGS to the football tournament, it was held at Uni of C.Lancs, good facilities & really well run.The boys did play well & got to the final but came runners up. Maybe next time
I took sandwiches & snacks which all got eaten , we had to set off at 4 & didn't get home until nearly 9
Not much planned for today, we had a bit of a lie in. I didn't wake until 7.30 - unheard of recently! Not sure what we'll eat tonight.Anyway hope you all have a good day x
