EDF mistakes with our bills

We were with EDF from January until July 2007 paying by monthly direct debits. We then switched to EON. At the beginning of December EDF sent us bills coming to nearly £400 for underpayments. My husband phoned EDF and was told almost at once that one bill was mistakenly £90 too much and that the other one had a discrepancy for end/start meter readings from EDF and EON. As the discrepancy was less than £100 EDF automatically gave us the benefit of the doubt and took another £90 off the bill. It pays to query everything - would EDF have spotted the mistake if we hadn't queried the bill?

Happy Christmas
