Are you suggesting the OP needs to cancel the contract and require a full refund? (I note that on several of their many 1 star reviews on trustpilot the company seems to be claiming that they have refunded disgruntled customers. They give a 'phone number to escalate refund complaints)
Terms on the site don't appear to mention when the hire period begins but given they deliver I can't see how the hire period can begin before delivery and either way I think delivery of goods would trump any terms.
More treat the contract at an end rather than cancel. I'm not sure if the cancellation regs apply to hire goods, that said the goods are possibly made to the consumer's specifications any way.fromT&C
Hire charges are payable in advance.
The first payment is due immediately upon your signature of the agreement.
Payments are charged by a pre-authorised recurring charge to your debit card.
Payments are collected weekly or monthly as shown on your agreement. These are taken on the same day each week or month.
Once you have paid the Total Minimum Hire Payment shown on your agreement, the hire charge reduces to £1 per year.
and they are regulated by the laws of 'England'.0 -
Hiring a carpet! I didn't know the tallyman did this on the never never.

Sorry to jump on this post but I’m in a similar position. PWF installed my carpet after a couple of times cancelling. The installer came knowing there was a join but didn’t have the equipment to do it and said he’d come back next week (this is beginning of Jan) he has cancelled numerous times since (around 7 times, incl me not chasing for a month as I was sick of the excuses and nonsense!) He was again supposed to come along today and is now unwell (not surprised) and apparently will return Sunday (yes Easter Sunday). I’ve spoke to the company and said that this is crap and he’s clearly not coming back. I am waiting (supposedly) for a manager to call me back as I’ve asked to speak to someone who can sort this mess out. What I need help with is what I can do without getting myself into hot water. I’m still paying monthly for the carpet, can I hold my payments until they fix the problem? This has gone on for two months now and we’ve still got a carpet we cannot properly use as the bottom step was not installed properly and is now lifting and fraying. Is there a get out for them as a company as they are using self employed fitters? Thanks in advance for your help0
