On Wednesday I went to sell my VW Campervan to the place I had bought it. Although I had paid for it by bank transfer, that I and they had evidence for, it came up as having finance on a HPI check.
When I spoke to someone at VW. The registration is the same as mine but the chassis number is different. This is therefore a case of someone putting the wrong registration in the system.
VW finance have been completely useless. I have provided a copy of my V5, emailed and called. In the mean time I can’t sell my car! Can anyone help? What else do I need to do?

Have patience, it's less than 2 full business days since the issue was raised. They are most likely going to contact their customer, potentially by letter, and wait for a reply. Whilst it's urgent to you it may not be to the other person and given its august they may be on holiday and not in a position to reply whilst abroad.1
