Morning all
I'm up and had breakfast early as we're out walking with friends today so need to be ready. DH is still in bed so I'll take him up some tea when I've written this.
Did some more sorting out yesterday but then collected two books from our local bookswap. They will get read on holiday and can then be moved on.
Last night's dancing at the pub was fun and we had some of the audience join in for one mass dance. It's getting darker earlier though so we packed up about 9.30pm.
Happy Friday everyone.13 -
Morning folks. My time in Glasgow was really lovely, I got back yesterday afternoon. Today I'll be back to pottering around. Right now I'm still lying in bed watching the swallows fighting to get perch on my telephone wire to pick off whatever insects are in the stonework of my house. It's weirdly fascinating.Happy Friday to all.12

Morning allDon't work on Friday but still wake up at the same time grrrrrr Off out shopping in a minute. Just hung some washing out and it feels quite mild out there. Very small chance of a shower around 10ish apparently so washing will get an extra rinse maybe! Apart from that a mooching around sort of day. DH will be home from work a bit later than usual as he's picking up his new (to him) car. A little bit bigger than his present one and has a few more gadgets in it to keep him amused so am preparing for a few ripe words while he works out how they workHugs to everyone who needs one and have a good day x10

Morning All
Dry out at the moment but could go either way. Could do with a dry day to get some washing dried. Yesterday was miserable but mild although it did dry up later on.
Had a lovely catch up with friends at DDs yesterday and called at the PO to post some birthday cards on the way home - £1.10 for a first class stamp!
Sounds like you had a fun evening WL, happy holidays.
Glad you enjoyed your time in Glasgow Gers.
Must get myself moving today, my cold is definitely on the way out but I'm struggling with energy levels at the moment so will get the paint brushes out at least! I'm sure that any illness I get now takes longer to get over since having Covid.
Hope everyone is well and has a good day, take care. XX

Good morning, it's not raining!
Yesterday was so warm and damp, what a miserable drizzly day it was.
Snoozer, you are not bad for looking forward to a break from the fsmily, you do so much for them and need some time to yourself. I think we've probably all bitten back words that would be better left unsaid for the sake of family harmony.
I'm nipping into Durham today to make a payment into one of the banks that we don't have here any more, might look in the indoor market while I'm there.
Sorry to read that you're not feeling well Camelot, hope you soon feel better.
Thoughts to anyone else who is not well, also thinking of Ruby, hoping she's ok.
Hope everyone has a good day, take care folks.13 -
Morning folks and thanks NMLC. Wow almost a summer's day is forecast for today!! No rain and even sunny spells! Yesterday we didn't have rain either but it remained gloomy and cloudy all day Rain due back tomorrow.. Can this summer get much worse.
Nothing exciting in store today, just the usual Friday Tidy and too many slothful intervals I suppose. My get up and go has still to make an appearance.
I rang the DF who had been struck down with the d & v and she was at last feeling a bit more human after 3 days in bed. Still feeling weak and weary and I gave her strict instructions to just give in to it. Doubt she will listen though.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all in need, plus the MIA. Take care all and be safe xx

Morning everyone Scarlet it’s a while since I’ve been into Durham but if you like fish Hodgens fish in the indoor market is the best enjoy your day it’s supposed to stay dry I’m not at work until 12 need to pop out for my prescription and I need some eggs . I stripped my beds and took them into work to wash and dry yesterday along with my towels we had plenty of ironing in but a couple of washers free for a couple of hours so that’s saved me a bit of time and money perks of the job there’s got to be some I’m going to cook a little Gammon joint in the multi cooker thingamybob I’ve had it over a year I’m still not sure what it is it slow cooks pressure cooks and it does a bit of all sorts but everything turns out lovely and it saves a bit of energy at least my bills say it does I’ve got a smart meter but I don’t think it works some months it’s accurate all month sometimes just odd days this month I’ve use 2 pounds electric and 3 pounds gas all month so it’s definitely having a rest this month and it’s no use trying to get in touch with the energy company that’s impossible. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing10

Morning all, not raining here atm but very grey and humid. Bit of tidying to do as DB is visiting later this morning, then we need to go and collect the jacket DH ordered at the retail park yesterday. It was so busy, we struggled to even find a parking space. The little Italian we were going to have lunch at had customers queuing at the door so we joined in. The lovely Italian manager said she thought it was due to the bad weather and parents taking their children to see Barbie at the cinema, or bowling- she was probably right, the car park nearby was def fuller than the other side.DGS is due back from hols at lunchtime & DS2 will go and fetch him from his DMs, they look to have enjoyed it.Then later this afternoon he has a footie tournament up the motorway. It doesn't finish until 7.30 so we'll take some snacks/sandwiches. DS1 will have a pizza when he gets home, he might be late so we'll need to feed pooch before we go out or she'll think she's being starved
Just washed her bedding so need to dry that in the TD but it doesn't take long. Better get on- hope the feeling poorly soon recover x

Morning everyone and thanks for starting us off nmlc
I had to deal with 'flying ants' yesterday - apparently it's that time of year. Has anyone else had the same problem and knows how to get rid of them?
Not sure about the weather - forecast is for sun, but it's looking grey atm.
I'm having a coffee with a friend in the village this morning, but will be taking my umbrella.
Hope everyone has a fab Friday. x10
