If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales
  • Stock acknowledgement letter
Does that mean they will review the evidence and may reduce my band ?

It's means they received your letter. Nothing more.

You haven't answered my question from your previous posts about what band your neighbours are in? Or any other 5 bed in your area?
A band B for a 5 bed seems completely wrong, I don't think I know anyone who lives in anything more than a 3 bed with a B rating.

If all your neighbours are E as are surrounding areas then I don't think you have any valid argument to stay a B.
Two doors down has a similar internal area and is band B while I am band E.
Yes, I understand that but there must be more than one other house in your street or area of similar size? What are all the other 5 beds in your immediate area?
You need to look at more than one house which might be incorrectly banded. If all the other 5 beds are an E which is more than likely, then I don't think you have any case at all.

There is another similar sized property built before 1900 near my house which is lower than a band E.

It is an end terrace two storey house which was originally two houses. It has 5 bedrooms. Its internal area is 154 square metres (mine is 140 square metres) according to the EPC. This house is in band D.

It is a possibility, but judging from recent posts on here, the VOA are more likely to say Band E  is correct. What band did you ask for in your appeal?

    I haven’t actually appealed yet.

If you haven't appealed then how come you received an acknowledgement letter?

I don’t know. All I’ve done is sent them a few emails asking questions and also details of similar houses in lower bands.
