Anglian doors

Options
Anglian  came and measured 2 doors.  One was too small so we have to bring down the ceiling about 3 inches - and this was just a replacement door where the opening was already there and there was no building work.  The other was too large for a new extension as it did not take into account the planned floor height which was clearly marked and discussed with the surveyor.   Anglian said that I was responsible for the (incorrect) measurements as I signed the form to say I wanted the doors and would pay for them.  I cannot understand why I should be responsible for the measurements as that should be their job. I foolishly paid as they said I had to  - but  would advise anyone not to pay until the job has been done correctly.  Does anyone know whether their holding me to account for their incorrect measurements is something that others have experienced?.  This seems very sharp practice and surely not legal.
