Lloyds under 19 account

Hello!
I have a Lloyds under 19s account. I am 18 next month and wandering what happens when I turn 18 as I believe this account is only up to age 17?! I’m really anxious as I get payed from my job a couple days after my birthday and worry that I might not get paid if that account can only be for under 18s. Please could someone advise me what the next steps are… Whether I should upgrade my account on my 18th birthday or whether it happens automatically? Do I get a new card and do my sort code and account number change if my account changes? Any advice would be appreciated as I don’t want my pay to get lost somewhere!

I take it you mean under 18s account, not under 19s?With no actual knowledge of these accounts, it would make no sense at all for Lloyds to issue you with a new account number. I'm guessing they may change the type of account or any special advantages they give you for having it, but I seriously doubt they will change the number. What useful purpose would that serve anybody. Do you have a local branch that's still open? I'd call in and ask, or pick up the phone otherwise.Make £2025 in 2025

Your Under 19s Account will automatically transfer over a classic account as soon as you turn 18. You’ll have the same sort code and account number so your account can be used as normal. You may receive a new debit card, although you should be alright to use your old one until your new one arrives.
You should receive some correspondence from Lloyds Bank soon explaining more about the process. You’re also now provided the opportunity to switch banks if you wish, so have a look around and see which you prefer! You might also be offered an overdraft.0 -

As this account is just for 11 - 17 year olds, we'll automatically move you to a Classic Account once you turn 18.

I received a letter in May stating effective 1st August my account would be a Bank of Scotland classic account.
Your account should continue with the same account number and sort code. You may automatically be issued a new card so keep an eye out in the app card management section and post. Your old card should still continue to function, usually for about a month, but it’ll be worth checking that subscriptions have switched over to the new card and updating them if not. Same with Amazon etc.pridehappy said:Your Under 19s Account will automatically transfer over a classic account as soon as you turn 18. OP would be best off not switching this account IMO if they’ve held it for a while - a long-standing account is supposedly good for the credit report.Slinky said:I take it you mean under 18s account, not under 19s?With no actual knowledge of these accounts, it would make no sense at all for Lloyds to issue you with a new account number. The only number they would change is the debit card number if they issue a new card. The sort code and account number remain the same.
OP, you may wish to upgrade to club Lloyds if you can cycle around £2,000 to avoid the fee. This would give you access to their club Lloyds monthly saver at a high rate, and also a benefit like disney+ free of charge. Beware, if you don’t fulfil the criteria to have the fee waived, it is £3 per month.
Last but not least, Happy Birthday in advance to the OP 🎉If you want me to definitely see your reply, please tag me @forumuser7 Thank you.
