Debt Recovery Plus letter

My husband has received a fine for £170 for a ticket that we never received. He swears he was not in the car park longer than 3hrs as his meeting across the road was only 1hr.

What do we do? I have not called them.

I just need a step by step guide really please.

You can read all about the DRP MONEY SCAMMERS in the Newbies thread

Ignore these fools, they are powerless and full of rubbish

It's not a fine, you don't owe £170.   Who is the PPC

Is the address on the car's V5C Logbook up to date? Could that be why you didn't hear about this until the debt collector did a 28p credit reference check? If it is not up to date, you could face a real "fine" of up to £1,000.

But there's nothing to be done. This stage is already fully covered in the NEWBIES thread fourth post.

  • Thank you, I cant find the newbies thread @Coupon-mad

We moved the last couple of weeks V5 address change in progress. Date on letter is April so we would have received the original fine if sent. @b789

Assuming PPC means where, it was a Morrisons car park. @patient_dream

    thank you all

But my signature tells everyone where to click.

    PPC means Private Parking Company.

If this is a Morrisons only site (as opposed to them being in a multi-outlet retail park), they are the best supermarket for cancelling Euro Car Parks (their universal car park operator) tickets. See the manager, take receipts (or bank/cc statement showing transaction) also previous receipts (showing regular patronage), and your M's 'More' card. Yet to see any such request for cancellation refused.

Alternatively, Morrisons have a dedicated online form for requesting PCN cancellations:

Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Follow the newbies thread and advice from regulars on here, you are now dealing with two greedy private firms whose only interest is making money.
Please stop thinking of this charge as a "fine" it isn't it's a speculative invoice, and it has reached debt collectors that have added on another £70 which you can safely ignore they can't do diddly squat.
DO not phone a PPC (Private Parking Company) or a debt collector their stupid call handlers persuaders are there only to extract money from you not help you!
In no correspondence mention the fact that anyone "had a meeting across the road" if this car park belongs to Morrisons they won't help if you weren't a customer and the PPC will gleefully claim the driver also left site.
You need to get wise read up about the scammers tactics and beat them, a Morrisons cancellation is the best bet. One other thought also, if you claim the stay was only 1hour, and they are claiming in excess of 3hours was this a double dip, in other words did the vehicle enter twice in the same day?
