Morning
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Damp and murky start to the day, yesterday was the same but then dried up and the sun shone and was a pleasant day. Hoping today will be the same. I have a basket of washing ready to peg out.
Dinner last night was fish, chips and mushy peas or fish and veg. Tonight will be HM chicken and mushroom pie, new potatoes, veg and gravy.
Half day at work today but I have some admin stuff to do later.
Keep safe and well x

Morning folks, thanks for starting us off nmlc.Yesterday was mostly rainy and much cooler so I stayed home and pottered around. Today has started very wet, I think it's been raining hard all night, with deep low cloud over the sea. No twittering birds this morning.I'm off to Glasgow shortly. This evening I'm seeing Tim Minchin at the Theatre Royal and then am booked for the Banksy exhibition tomorrow mid-morning. I'm also meeting Alan for breakfast today and then another friend for lunch tomorrow. There may also be a spot of at least window shopping unless the weather is too awful.
I hope that DP1 has got off without any bother. Hugs to our poorlies. Happy Wednesday to all.10 -
Good Morning chums ,bright and sunny first thing, but clouding up a bit .The light is that sharp, a bit too bright light, that usually means rain later, plus my bones are aching a bit .There you go
weather forecast for free, I'm normally better that the national met office
and a darn sight cheaper as well
Early start this morning as fingers crossed this is my last trip to see the District Nurse and get my dressing and drain changed as op. day is next Tuesday I had a text from the hospital reminding I have to be there at 07.00 next week(as though I would forget)
I have to be ready two hours before my appointment for the hospital transport to arrive, then once Iv've been seen to, I have to ring for return journey, so that wipes out most of this morning. But I don't mind as the clinic is held at the Hospice in Rochester and I normally have a cuppa and a natter with the volunteers or if the weather has been nice when they wheel a patient or two out to the garden I have a natter to them as well I'm a different face for folk to chat to.
Plus I can have a cuppa or two and knit if there is no one around as often I have at least an hour or so before I get picked up again.
DGS Ben is coming after lunch to dig some spuds up that he planted at Easter. He's really looking forward to seeing what the harvest is like.
hope everyone has a good day and stays dry if they can

Morning folks and thanks NMLC for starting off. It's a glorious start here with blue sky and sunshine. Only very light rain forecast for this evening. Yesterday's rain, which was promised around lunchtime, never happened.
I finally got my elusive missing meds yesterday without hassle! I could see the stressed man, he who who couldn't find my meds last week, in the back but fortunately it wasn't he who came to serve me! Very little spending was done, just a few essentials in £land on route for the bus back up home. I noticed town seemed to be getting a little bit busier yesterday but sadly it's too late for all the shops that didn't survive the post-Covid slump.
It's bus trip day today with our usual wine 'n dine lunch. It seems ages since our last trip with bus buddy being away. No doubt it will be Skipton again but we enjoy a browse of the cs and market stalls and it promises to be a nice day for ambling around. We might even be able to sit outside for lunch!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for those in need and the MIA. I hope DP1 got off safely. COXY good news about the VR if that's what you want. Fingers still crossed that RUBY is well away from any of the fires. .Take care all be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"11 -
Morning All
Damp and dreary this morning - the sort of drizzle that gets you very wet! There was a small shower yesterday but it didn't come to much although I had a very lazy day so it didn't really matter.
Sorry you didn't get the job Coxy but sounds like you did very well. Hope the VR offer is good for you.
Enjoy your few days in Glasgow Gers, hope you don't get too wet.
Happy bus trip TA.
Hoping Ruby is safe and enjoying her holiday.
A friend and I are going to an outlet store this morning for a mooch about then I really need to get back into painting, I've lost my mojo at present!
Have a good day, take care. XX11 -

Morning all, cleaning and tidying for photos to be done for estate agent photographer tomorrow morning. I must say it does look lovely and tidy!
gorgeous day here, will go out for a bike ride when all my jobs are done.
every time I sit and have a break I have a virtual wander around our planned destination, why on Earth don’t people tidy up or clean up before their photos are done? Still makes it interesting eh .....
take care all

Morning! Sunny! Maybe not for long though so better take advantage of it. Friend is coming or coffee today, she drops her OH in town for him to teach art and is in my general area so who's going to pass up a free cup of tea?
I could get a wriggle on and go and get some cake...Friends also coming for coffee tonight so will make some nibbles. I've got my chickpeas soaking for falafel, possibly later, possibly tomorrow. Need to get some coriander..It's green bin day tomorrow so cutting grass and weeding at the back is on the cards for today if it stays dry ish. Am waiting on two loads drying on the line, put them on yesterday but it was quite late so just finishing them off in the sun this morning. And I'm picking up a free bench this afternoon. Bit of paint and it'll look lovely.
Coxy, disappointing but hopefully the VR will make up for it. I'm all for people finishing work as soon as possible. Life is too short to kill yourself for companies or the gov, who see productive pillars not people. Jackie, hope Ben isn't disappointed with his haul. Happy last day of bondageGers, good o see you on the go again..Izzy, no, not yet, I'm still waiting on a date for them re-doing the bay windows, so Ive currently got half size room divider things for privacy..and do what you can do, slowly...! at work that is..congrats on your slow but steady race too...carolbee, hope the pics come out well. Yeah, have a look at that thread on the houses for sale board, some of them are just shocking...Take care all, shout to the missing, nanny, where'd you go again?

Morning all. The sun's shining here atm but I feel the need to check the weather forecast now before planning my day!
Yesterday was busy; we took DGS on the bus to the City Centre and spent a couple of hours there, including a visit to the Children's Library and a scone in JL. Apparently it was his first time on a bus; I sat him on my lap as he wasn't quite tall enough to see much out of the window. When we took him home we stayed and cooked dinner, which was enjoyed by everyone and then brought back a few bits for the charity shop.
Today I've got ironing to do but might go out before lunch as rain is forecast for later and I can do the ironing then!
Enjoy your day all.12 -
Morning from Mehefinland
Well its official... I am a murderer!! Before there is a collective intake of breath I shall hastily add , of wasps! We had an uninvited infestation of wasps who had found their way in via an airvent cover. Normally I would leave them be , as love them or hate them they are useful insects. However this lot was right on the only access to our front door, and although not a nuisance yet, when they get towards the end of summer and they morph into nasty, they would have definitely been a problem. So they had to go. A very nice man came yesterday with all his gear ( think super beekeeper kit) and did the business. Result - no more wasps at that location. Feel sad as I don't like to kill them really ( look up the life cycle of wasps - it is quite fascinating), but sometimes needs must. Didn't want anyone getting stung.
On the bee front, we have a nest of bumble bees ( not the huge "how on earth do they fly " type, but a smaller variety) ensconced behind some hay bales in the barn. They are not doing any harm so will leave them alone. Does get a little noisy on occasions when they get disorientated and cant find the way out of the barn. The horses don't seem bothered by them surprisingly.
Had a trustees meeting for our community library yesterday and we have been successful in obtaining a grant to revamp and modernise the internals. BUT the council want us to pay invoices up front and then claim the monies back from them which they will reimburse in 30 days!!! WE dont have that kind of resource ( theres a surprise) so we are now negociating with them to try to get some of the grant monies in advance to enable work to start. Talk about making it difficult!! It will get sorted at some point but its a 5 figure grant so much soul searching etc required . Fingers crossed they will play ball.
Still got to get on the roof when its dry enough to try to find the leak above the kitchen. Every time I plan it, it blooming rains again!
Thats about it for now
Hugs and spoons as always
Mehefin

Morning all, nice and sunny at the mo, mind you it was when I went for a walk through the park yesterday afternoon, then I noticed a dark cloud and the heavens opened. Everyone started rushing to the car park and an older man went flying after his foot got caught in the grass & landed really heavily. Went to ask if he was ok, he was with his wife who tried to get him up but another lady said leave him to get up in his own time, which he did after a bit, then they both offered an arm to the nearby car park. I bet he'll be sore today poor chap.I trimmed a lot of the blackberry bushes across the road which were reaching over the fence and blocking the pavement with long tendrils that scratch me when I walk with pooch ( Looks like a good year for the fruit anyway
) Spoke to a few neighbours & 1 came to help before he cut his hedge.
Got a T delivery soon. DH is only working part of the day & they'll have finished that job so they'll have the rest of the week off.Have a good day x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)11
