    You could consider giving up your flat and moving back in with Mum as her carer. These are precious moments that will not come your way again.  You may also be able to claim additional help for in-house care etc, please look into this.  We cannot comment fully as we do not know your circumstances, but if you have a physical presence in the family home the Council will have a duty of care to you also, they can't force you to sell the house if it is going to make you homeless.   Looking at it from another perspective, your Mum may enjoy having you around at this difficult time, in addition you will know that your Mum is getting the best of care, YOU.
