Courtesy car damage

I currently have a courtesy car and my son with learning difficulties had a meltdown and broke the rear vents in the car 😔 it's been a bad month!!
I told the garage because I didn't want to be dishonest. The part online is like £50 but waiting for garage to confirm a price for the repair.
If they come back with something really unreasonable am I able to dispute this? I am just worried they might change me hundreds to replace it.

Yes, you are only required to indemnify them.housebuyer143 said:If they come back with something really unreasonable am I able to dispute this? I am just worried they might change me hundreds to replace it.
A part being £50 doesnt mean a repair will be £50... at a minimum will be the labour to repair it but potentially also loss of use of the vehicle whilst its awaiting/being repaired and a nominal admin fee1 -
Thanks, it looks like something that can be changed really quickly if you know how, which I am sure they do. Fingers crossed. You hear stories of some garages charging insane amounts so hopefully because it's coming from my pocket and not the insurance they will be fair.DullGreyGuy said:

I guess I'll see what they say and go from there. Appreciate the reply 👍1 -
Horror stories make for interesting reading... stories where they fix it and charge you a reasonable price for the work and £25 admin are just a bit dull so dont get written about even though they probably out number the horror stories 50:1housebuyer143 said:

The manufacturer will have listed a labour time for replacing the part - the dealer should charge that time multiplied by their labour rate/e.g. Remove and install vent 1.2 hrs1
