Alexa lag

My Echo Dots (4th generation) have started to lag after being 'instructed'. For instance, when asking to listen to BBC Radio 6 or 2 there's now a long pause, sometimes over 20 seconds after Alexa confirms that it's playing before it actually plays.  And then this morning it never played at all.
I've done the reset option to no avail. Does anyone have any other ideas about this problem please?

I've seen this issue, albeit in a different context. In my case it was caused by a conflict of group names on some lighting.  I'd say "lounge Lights on", Alexa would eventually put them on but did not say "OK".  I deleted the conflicting group and all was well again.

Have you tried re-booting your WiFi router - it could that Alexa is struggling to find a signal - just a thought.

    Kind Regards,

Thanks  - yes did that too.  Signal is fine and Alexa responds immediately to all other interactions.
