Travel insurance help! Not wanting cover for pre existing!

I was hoping someone could help!

I have medical conditions as long as your arm! All old conditions and when I’ve been getting quotes they are expensive especially when I’m only going to Spain and I’ve never had to claim before!

Does anyone know of any companies that offer cover for everything on the policy apart from anything that was directly/indirectly caused by my pre existing conditions?

You may well think I’m being naive by not wanting to pay the extra money but please don’t judge me!

LV= gives you the option to exclude conditions.

Axa and Aviva gives the option to exclude them when obtained via a bank account so would make sense that they offer the same on direct business but maybe just on telephone purchases.

We are in the same situation with both of us have a number of conditions some of which we would happily forgo cover for because we believe there is so little chance of them causing a problem on holiday especially when they are very expensive items. So not answering your question but just understanding your thoughts.

Completely your decision, but I have just been reading about an 18-year-old who travelled with a pre-existing condition and ended up in hospital in ICU. Her family are now crowd funding for the 33K needed to get her home plus the 25K and rising for hospital treatment so far and in the near future.
The Ehic card covers you for the same treatment that you would get as a resident. It doesn’t cover all the other incidental costs or getting you home.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

I read the same case. It said that the family did have insurance BUT the young woman had somehow been sent to a private hospital not a public one and the insurer refused to cover it.  The patient had a severe kidney condition (as well as pneumonia) and the EHIC/GHIC  card no longer covers dialysis abroad.

I have just got Travel insurance from Tesco for me and my husband including pre-existing medical issues for £211 to go to Canada.  Out of mine and my husband's long list of 'illnesses' there is only my high blood pressure and underactive thyroid that is actually 'active' now but we listed everything anyway...  just in case.  I'd rather list them and be covered than not list them and my insurance be void.
    Have a lovely holiday!  xx
