Morning
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Damp and murky start to the day, yesterday was the same but then dried up and the sun shone and was a pleasant day. Hoping today will be the same. I have a basket of washing ready to peg out.
Dinner last night was sausages, mash, veg, yorkshires and gravy.
Work wasn't too bad.
Keep sage and well x

Morning allThanks for starting us off NMLCUp bright and early as will be leaving for work a bit earlier as there is a diversion on my route which will be there until 3rd September grrrrrrrrBuckingham Palace was absolutely heaving yesterday. The exhibition was lovely. They had the King and Queen's coronation robes and some other bits too. A necklace was on display also. The diamonds were huuuuuuuge. It was spitting with rain whle walking through the gardens on the way out but apart from that we kept dry. Really enjoyed it.Have a good day everyone x12

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. The sun is currently shining but the forecast has changed twice already! From light rain at lunchtime it has now been updated to thunderstorms!! I preferred the first option!
I need to go in town this morning to pick up an item missed off my shipping order at Boots. When I got a text informing me the said item was ready to collect I went down and the chap couldn't find it!! He was snowed under with meds to collect and asked me to go back! I have since had THREE more texts telling me the elusive tablets are ready to collect so I am going with my fingers crossed!
There are a couple more things I want from town whilst down there but I won't linger if thunderstorms are due later! Last day at school hereabouts so I hope the weather improves for the holiday. DD is whizzing the two youngest off to the caravan for a few days when they finish at lunchtime but it doesn't promise to be decent weather for them. The blooming rain is relentless.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all in need. I am hoping our RUBY is safe with those fires now breaking out on different islands. COXY fingers crossed for you. Take care all be safe xx

Up and waiting for DGs J to arrive - will ask him to prime the bare wood stairs rails this morning - on one side of stairs so Mr F has at least some support going up and down.
Need to get some milk today and will check freezer for ice lollies as 10% day at Icelan.
I have a parcel to collect from the post office.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Morning All
Bright and sunny at the moment but rain due later. I'll put my bedding out for a while and see how it goes.
Little one was a joy yesterday although she had been up since 5 so was a little tired. She fell asleep on the way to the swimming pool but soon perked up with her Mummy promising her chips on the way home!
I took back some curtains I bought last week, the lining seemed too small for the curtain fabric and the edge was all wavy despite my best efforts to press them. Bought some different ones that look fine, now need to find some for the hallway.
My cold took a turn last night and I felt rotten again - older DGD who was here last week came with a cold so I suspect I have now caught that one on top of what I already have. Feeling a bit brighter today and don't have anything on so will have a restful day.
Glad you enjoyed your palace visit Chrisca.
Hope you get your meds TA and your family enjoy their visit to the caravan.
Have a good day, take care. XX10 -
Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC.
It's sunny here, bet it doesn't last though. Yesterday was positively cold, I put the fire on last night, our sitting room was so cold.
Chrisca, sounds like you had a good day at BP yesterday. A nice day out.
Hope you get your tablets sorted out TA
Florence, I was interested in what you were saying about you and dh getting your ears suctioned free at the hospital. When I got hearing aids I was given the choice of getting them from the hospital or Sp*csavers. I chose the latter because we have a branch here in our High Street. ( they are very good) Dh, who has had aids for a long long time had to get his from the hospital, and his procedures are different.
Like I was saying yesterday, some Drs do micro suction, others do irrigation, some don't seem to do wax extraction at all.
I think I'll check all this out, see if we can get them done free.
Not much going on today except cleaning and tidying, then the quiz tonight.
Hope Ruby is ok, I was thinking about them, it looks terrifying.
Hope everyone has a good day today, take care folks

Good morning chums and a big pat on the back for Tesco's .My daughter phoned my yesterday afternoon feeling a bit emotional. Her husband had noticed that when they got any club cadr vouchers they always came in his name .As they both shop over the years (five children all grown up now ) he said he wondered why they never seemed to have much in the way of vouchers .She checked her card and realised the card she had been using for many years was her late Dads one. Its 20 years this month since he passed, and I had given her his old card as it had his signature on it, she had tucked it in her purse and just used it whenever she shopped there
She phoned up customer services and explained and asked was there any points on he late Dads card after telling the chap about the mix up. He said hang on I'll check.
Bless him he did and said 'Are you sitting down dear?' .She said yes and he said there are over 18 thousand points on there .
She immediately burst into tears bless her, she adored her Dad as did her sister. The chap said now dry your eyes and I'll sort it out for you.
He's transferred the points to her husbands card and come November there are now £184 in vouchers on her OH's card which as she said will help to cover the Christmas food shop. She was amazed at how quickly the problem was sorted, and by last night they had all been transferred to Simons club card. She said 'Oh Mum its like he's giving us a Christmas present' as it will be our last Christmas here in Kent as next year we are moving back to the Isle of Wight where he came from to live. She is singing the customer care chaps praises He could see how over the years ,especially with the kids growing up she had been using her Dads old card for shopping and buying stuff for the children so she was gobsmacked that they actually kept records as far back as that. He has issued her with a new card in her name and she is keeping her Dads old one to remind her. But what a nice chap he was to go to the trouble of sorting it out. I told her your Dad may not be around but he's still looking out for youMakes a change from all the brickbats that supermarkets get that for once they have done the right thing .Certainly made her day a far better one as july is always a hard one for us all.
Bearing in mind last Christmas, with me in hospital, wasn't a great one this one should hopefully be a darn sight better.
Cheers chums JackieO xxx14 -
Morning all and thanks for the start nmlc x
WFH today and it looks to be a dry day. We have DS1s pup so I'll get out for a walk at lunchtime with him. There is very much an end of term feeling at work. Boss is off on Friday and then for two weeks, so my workload will drop considerably. I need to keep motivated but it's challenging.
Dinner tonight will be a SW easy chicken curry. There is some washing to do and I'm going to tackle the ironing tonight too. Have booked DDad for the micro suction next week when he's back with us. Checked with Stepmum first (who waits on him hand and foot) and she said to go ahead. He's never had it done - does it hurt/uncomfortable? Should I give him pain relief beforehand? Any tips gratefully received as he does like to make a fuss.

Morning folks.I was about to write that this morning looked dull when the rain started, a short sharp downpour which has now stopped. It's the first rain for a week so I won't moan about it (much). I'd forgotten that Ruby was in Greece so hope she's OK.
The friend who visited the other day recommended a personal trainer who works via zoom. I phoned this PT, had a long chat and have decided to give her a go for a few sessions to see if the double approach works. Physio plus PT. We'll see.Jackie - what a heartwarming thing for your DD, yes, sometimes we are surprised and delighted by an unexpected response. Well done to that man.Coxy - any word after your IV? My fingers are crossed for you.Camelot - how annoying for you. I prescribe plenty of rest.TA - I hope that your meds are waiting for you. No lunch today? My thoughts are with our poorlies. Happy Tuesday to all.9
