Also check what current the bulbs need - AC (alternating) of DC (direct). If (unlikely) they aren't compatible with both (i.e. aren't AC/DC) make sure that the transformer provides what they specifically need.And do get a transformer that provides full isolation between input (240V) and output (12V ?).Some will drop the voltage, but are connected internally to the mains side - This could potentially give you a nasty shock or even kill if you were to touch one of the low voltage wires.
