HyperJar Chargeback
Newhouses
We’ve been using HyperJar pre paid credit card for household spending for a couple of years. My wife spent £500 recently on an item bought online but delivered to the actual high street shop for collection. Having examined it she returned it immediately as not as described, as per the shop policy and requested a refund. The company are now being very slow on refunding and are basically doing nothing, too busy to reply, and useless. What are our right on chargeback / section 75 via the card issuer? HyperJar apparently have a policy on not doing chargebacks, can they do this legally? Has anyone any similar experience or suggestions?

Section 75 isnt available as there is no credit agreement/you haven't borrowed to make the payment.
Chargeback is a feature offered by the card networks (Visa, Mastercard, Amex etc) and not a statutory right. You'd need to dig deep into the network's rules for issuing cards to see if they are compelled to offer chargebacks or not but even if they were it would be down to Visa (or whichever network it is) to decide if they want to take any action against them.0 -
The HyperJar card is issued by Monavate Ltd., pursuant to license by Mastercard International.
