I entered for free on Facebook and Instagram. Facebook mentions:
"Simply solve our mathematic equation from Bubble Lab, our game of the day, and comment the answer along with your tombola username to enter

@andrew_g_scott they will post a social media post on Facebook and Instagram a day. 
You have to answer the question and comment with your Tombola account username.
I believe the daily competition is 10am-9am and then a new one will be announced at 10am.

Be careful with this one. 

It says you have to put in your tombola name which means you have to sign up for an account, This I did for the first 2 stages, name, addy phone no etc., it says You're all signed up!

So I entered with my user name, within 30mins they phoned me asking me to confirm my details, they said they were entering it at their side and their computer would not accept it. It could because I had recently moved or something. (I have lived here for 50 years I told them) Have you got a passport or Driving licence they could check to confirm my I, D, I said forget it and hung up.

35mins later the same woman phones me again and tries the same thing. Needless to say I was not so polite this time and told them where they could go. I have now blocked their number which came up as +44 800 298 8873

How did they get your phone number? Did they message you on Facebook/Instagram or on the post to ask to sign up? Or did you go to the official website by searching yourself in your browser https://www.tombola.co.uk/
As you have to sign up on their free site but I've never had them call me, that does sound VERY suspicious.

That phone number comes up as 'The callers are reported to be pretending to be from Tombola bingo site'

It is Tombola's free phone number, BUT just because a number comes up as that on a phone, sadly it doesn't always mean it came from there (If you ever recieve a phone call from the number off the back of your bank card then it is a scam, as that is a phone to call in on NOT to phone out from) Same with emails, it doesn't always come from the email address that it says it is from. It's called Spoofing.

Some people are saying 10, but you can always double check them yourselves.

They got my number when I signed up. How would someone that was pretending to be them know that I had just signed up? I followed the link on your post to sign up.

I was not stupid enough to provide them with photographic I.D. but I think others should be aware.

@dobbiesloan Well that's good then, I was double checking that it was through their actual link and not someone creating an identical account, providing you with a different link to join and gaining your details that way (as it is common and I've had people do this on social media competitions ALL the time, some people don't know that it is a scam) I wanted to make sure it was likely them genuinely as it sounded dodgy.
