ebay - postage problem.

hi,
i just wondering what the best course of action is.
i sent a medium sized parcel via 2nd class royal mail to an ebay buyer. it arrived at its location but was not delivered and for the last 11 days, the tracking number has not changed from the 1st message of "We'll attempt to redeliver to you on the next working day".
am i correct in thinking the parcel is now awaiting collection somewhere from royal mail?
i did try contacting the buyer via ebay message 5 days ago, asking if the parcel arrived with the tracking number but ive had no response.
would it be possible for me to locate this parcel, so i can forward this information to the buyer?
is there something else i should do? i think i have 7 more days before the parcel is returned to me.

i think you would have to contact RM and find out what the issue is and inform the buyer.
Sometimes with the system the recipient has to reschedule the redelivery rather than it just happening automatically. But without knowing exactly what has happened we could only speculate.1 -
May be a silly question but are you sure that the item has not actually been delivered and its just a case of the tracking not being updated?3

Is this the tracking on RM site or ebay? Very often one updates but the other doesn't1

Has the buyer actually said that they have not got the item? Speaking from personal experience, unless they have contacted you saying the item has not arrived I would leave well alone.
If it has not ben delivered then the buyer will be letting you know. then is the time to be chasing it. Assume it has arrived unless you are told differently by the buyer.4 -
I’ve had a few delivered items that show that message and personally I never contact buyers, in fact I don’t look at tracking once item has gone.
