I do not have a ticket to ask about, but just a general query.
I've read a number of times on this forum that councils do not use ANPR cameras in their car parks due to the risk of double dipping, so I was wondering about my local park and ride at Redbridge in Oxfordshire where I am aware that cameras do exist:

Councils can't use ANPR to enforce parking charges (penalties). Is there any evidence that penalties are being issued at this site? They seem to have outsourced the collection of tariffs (hourly/daily charges) to Hozah (Workman LLP) who rarely feature on this forum and appear to be a private parking firm who do most things right. My brother has a Hozah account and got a bit concerned that a number of his parking events had not been recorded/charged, so wrote to Hozah to enquire. He had a nice reply to say 'Don't worry ******* these seem to be down to us and we would never charge you for any error on our part'. Seems a civilised (a rare bird in PPC land) and sensible (equally rare) response.Mrs U and I have a Hozah account too, but, unlike my brother, Hozah have never missed spotting us! We're quite satisfied with their efficient and reasonable management of the car parks we use. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

If the ANPR system is being used to issue punative pakring charge notices- ie enforcement in car parks, then its not allowedAs for the car park and park and ride, that site seems overly complex - the park and ride sites I have used have been based on the parking fee ibeing included in the transport ticket price, ie all day parking 1 person one vehicle £5.20 or one car laod ( upto 6) for £6 (Nottingham park and ride just over a month ago )From the Plain Language Commission:

As an aside the signs are marked as "local bus" but coaches to Heathrow etc. go through I assume without charge, surely that shouldn't be allowed.0 -
I've linked a number of these sites at the top of p75 of the 'Parking in the News & Media' thread and later in the year, I plan to do a few FOIs of the local authorities to see if any have issued postal PCNs based on the ANPR images.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
