Options
Hello,

Can people give me an idea of how much it should cost typically for a Lasting Power Of Attorney document to be created please?

If you do it yourself it costs £82 (unless you qualify for any reductions).  If done through a professional you would obviously pay more.

In Scotland it will cost more as the document must be certified by a Doctor or Solicitor who tend not to do these things for free :/
Things that are differerent: draw & drawer, brought & bought, loose & lose, dose & does, payed & paid

Do it yourself, quite easy really. They give you full instructions and even a template. Couldn’t have been more helpful.

Do you need both financial and health?  If so £82 each.

Very easy to do it yourself online. Just make sure you sign the forms in the correct order. The forms are very easy to follow with clear instructions If I can do it, anybody can. Quite expensive with solicitor. They do take a long time to be registered.

If you make a mistake and only realise after you have confirmed online everything is OK and paid for it. Then all you have to do is nothing! Do not bother printing off the forms for signature and start a new one from scratch.
After 2 or 3 months you will get a message that the application is null and void ( because you have not sent them any signed paperwork) and the £82 will be refunded.
Just keep a record of the reference numbers for each application so you do not mix them up.
