Cost to deep clean house

How much have you paid for a cleaning company to do a deep clean?

I've recently had a quote that's twice as much as I was expecting but then again my house is big (4 bed 3 bath) so perhaps I'm underestimating the work involved.

Very likely depends whether you’re thinking of an end of tenancy deep clean, or a house from hell hoarder, deep clean?
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

A "I've lived here for a year and have barely done any cleaning in that time so now everything looks grimy" deep clean. I want it all to look brand new again.

They'll have a price based on the area and number of rooms.
Then how long and how much to do.
It will need to be pretty much clutter free, all furnuture will need to be moved , moved again and put back.
Then the cost of materials and machines.

I did just carpet hoovering, skirting and walls for my tiny 4 room, 2 bath after it had been vacant for 15yrs and that took a day, day and a half , still not a deep clean. You have to keep cleaning the.machines too. It was more exhausting than I expected.

So I'd expect a house of your size to get it like new to cost a lot.

The only normal people you know are the ones you don’t know very well

I've now tried a second company and got a quote more like I was expecting - £260. Will go with them and hope they do a thorough job!

That doesn't sound bad to me.  As you haven't cleaned for a year another way to look at it is £260 equates to £5 a week.  You would never get a cleaner for £5 a week!
Ooh that is a good way to look at it!

That sounds a bit cheap to be honest. If you get a good job done for £260 in a house that size, you've been very lucky. They should be allowing 2 days for the job. When you factor in the cost of cleaning products, etc they'll be lucky to be earning minimum wage.

Have they quoted you how long the job will take? My guess is they will allow a day for one person at those rates which won't be enought to thoroughly clean a house that has been lived in but not cleaned for a year.

Personally would be looking at the number of hours, rather than price, along with the list of whats included as a "deep clean" can vary significantly depending on who you ask.
