Claiming banking fees from RBS

Hello,
I've had an RBS platinum bank account for over 20 years, and have realised that I could never use the travel insurance as I have had a chronic medical condition that precedes the account. I've only just realised this because RBS recently sent me an email about the account asking me to ensure that I don't have any pre existing medical conditions that would void the insurance. They didn't mention this when I took out the account, and told me I needed a packaged account to loans and an overdraft. I'm wondering if asking people to check that that the insurance still works for them is a new thing. I have already had PPI from RBS on the grounds of my pre-existing medical condition. I'm wondering if anyone else has successfully applied to RBS for the refund of packaged bank accounts. Thank you.

What does it say in the policy documents about notifying them of pre existing conditions?"We act as though comfort and luxury are the chief requirements of life, when all that we need to make us happy is something to be enthusiastic about” – Albert Einstein0

According to MSE guide, it's the bank that should have asked, not the customer that should have notified -Clive_Woody said:What does it say in the policy documents about notifying them of pre existing conditions?
Does it really matter? Just follow the quide - you have nothing to loseHuntcliff68 said:I'm wondering if anyone else has successfully applied to RBS for the refund of packaged bank accounts. Thank you.2 -
Have you used the other elements of the package that you refer to - loans and overdraft? All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
Thank you for getting back to me, I have had loans and used an overdraft facility - but I think that I probably would have got these anyway. I was told that I had to take the account out to get a loan or overdraft and I don't think this was true.0
