Restriction to comply with doesn’t exist!

Hello,
I am selling my shared ownership property and the buyers solicitor has said that a restriction on the title needs to be removed. The restriction states that a certificate of compliance would need to be issued to ensure a particular paragraph in the lease has been complied with…. but it doesn’t exist!
The freeholder are refusing to issue an RX4 to remove the restriction and simply state they will issue a certificate of compliance upon completion, but this obviously isn’t good enough for the buyers solicitor. Any advice??? We have been back and forth on this for weeks and no one is budging.

Agreed, but he has said he simply does not know what to suggest next.MultiFuelBurner said:This is for your solicitor to sort out thats what you pay them for.0 -
You pay your solicitor to sort out problems such as this. If there is something they are incapable of dealing with, they should seek the advice of more learned colleagues. Therefore I would suggest you get a new solicitor who has expertise in dealing with onerous aspects of property transactions.jstorkey said:

Or to put it another way, has anybody asked the buyer's solicitor what they expect you to do, if they're asking you for the impossible?0

Call the buyers bluff.....tell them what has been offered is what's on the table and they need to decide whether to proceed or pull out.0
