Yeah it definitely comes in handy (I hardly ever use Oyster, usually get zone 1-6 travel cards) but once in a pinch I had to use it due to me buying the wrong type of ticket. As luck would have it, I had about 20 pence to spare on my card thanks to the discount. This was something I had to dig around to find, it's not really advertised.Spoonie_Turtle said:Good tip about the Oyster, although a shame you can't do it online as an option. People will really need to know about it once national rail+TfL travelcards are withdrawn.
What do you mean about "once national rail+TfL travelcards are withdrawn?" Is something happening?0 -
Indeed. The Mayor has signed the order for Day Travelcards, including as add-ons to National Rail tickets, to be withdrawn by January 2024.Charles_Foxtrot said:

Well that just screws the pooch - I can't say how much money those cards save when we go to London. Like a LOT.

There seems to be some uncertainty if it's a done and dusted deal - various sources say that it may not happen. But I'm not going to hold out hope...
