Acer Swift 3 SF314-56 battery and network adapter issues

Hi guys. Wondering if someone can help with regards to the above laptop.
About a year/18 months i noticed i noticed one day i couldn't connect to router. After a bit of digging i found out that the issue was the network adapter shwoing a problem in device manager. I'm pretty sure i tried everything suggested- trying to update driver, removing and restarting, disabling and then re-enabling etc. Occasionally removing and restarting would work but the only thing that seemed to work all the time or most of it was a hard reset of the battery with a pin in the back for a few seconds and then repower up. The problem was intermittent. Sometimes it would happen a few times over a few days/weeks and other times it could run ok for months. However, one thing i did notice was that windows updates seemed to cause a problem an awful lot of the time.
Now roll forward to today and i've got a new charger plugged into the laptop which holds charge when it's plugged in but when i remove it i lose power. Also, although it holds charge the percentage is not going up. It shows 14% available (plugged in) but does not increase.
A couple of questions really. It's a new charger i'm on now as old one was a bit loose around port on laptop so don't think it's a charger issue.
Does this sound like a new battery is needed??
Is it possible network adapter issues from past and battery could be linked or are they likely independent??
From a battery report i've ran the part no is AP18C8K for the battery but i'm wondering if any battery for the Swift 3 series would do??
The laptop is just over 3 year old and is used fairly regularly. Acer Care Centre says battery health is good when i run a check but not sure it that means anything. Battery report shows design capacity of 48000 mWh with full charge capacity of 36800.
One final thing is that i can't now reset battery and think because i've used it so many times now with a pin in the back i think i may have broken it.
If anyone can add anything and can be bothered replying i would be grateful but think it's a new battery job??
cheers
