Morning folks and thanks NMLC. It's a cloudy start here but according to the local forecast the sun should be shining. I live in hope! Yesterday was quite lovely and we had warm sun most of the day.
I am thinking I might get the bus along the valley bottom today and have a browse of the little town further along as I haven't wandered round it for a while. There is a small Home B there and as it's just across the road from the bus stop back I won't have far to carry any bargains I might spot. I might take dolly trolley with me just in case.
Have a nice day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all in need of them. Take care all and be safe xx

Morning all. Thanks for starting us off nmlc.Yesterday was another lovely day. After coming back from the physio I drove up to a marina for an early lunch at a very popular cafe. It was so busy that I ordered takeaway instead and ate it in my car. 😀 My poor cleaner had been bitten on an arm by a wasp, unusually the arm reacted really badly to the bite so I packed her off to A&E as neither an antihistamine nor bite cream were doing any good.Right now I'm still lying in bed watching the swallows perched on the telephone wire which comes into my place. They use it to pick insects out of the rough stone. They are so delicate and twitter a lot. Lovely to wake up to.Today is open, I'll decide later. Here's a photo of some of the butterflies I talked about yesterday. Don't look Camelot! I'll resize it when at my laptop.I hope that everyone is doing well. Happy Thursday to all.9

Morning all and thanks for the start @nmlc x
Lovely photo @Gers
WFH today and my friend is coming at lunchtime so we will take a walk around the local park. He recently lost his mum and now his work situation is looking dire, so he's processing a lot. Important to keep talking I think.
We are trying a vegan recipe tonight - sure DH and DDad will be thrilled! I have the green lentils standing by lol
Washing to do today as it looks like a decent day for drying. I also need to arrange a Post Office collection as our local brand is still not taking parcels....
Have a good day everyone,

Hi everyone,
We had a lovely day yesterday although Steve and Chris worked hard emptying the stables. Unfortunately they were too late for the local tip so we have a car full to take down to ours today (it's only 5 minutes away so not too onerous). I can't remember who asked but they had planned to turn the stables into a gym, however with rising costs they may just take it to a point where it is all watertight, insulated and has water and electricity provided. The house used to be a farm but there isn't enough land left with it to use the stables for their original purpose and if they had been left much longer they would probably have completely deteriorated.
Nate is on the point of walking, Chris has one more week of his sabbatical so he may be walking before he goes back. The three months has gone so quickly, but when he goes back he won't have such long days so that should make a difference.
Esben has a hearing test today, we've been waiting for the appointment since December and I've noticed lately that he is asking for the TV to be turned up because he can't hear it. We shall see, Chris' teacher asked me to get his hearing checked when he was young but it was just inattention, lol.
Have a good day.11 -
Morning everyone and thank you for starting us off nmlc.
Lovely photo Gers
Enjoy your bus trip TA - I also like HBs
Sun is shining here and the forecast for today is good.
I am off this morning for coffee and cake with 'the girls'.
Hope everyone has a lovely day.10 -
Morning all. The sun is shining here and I've just hung out a line of washing.
We are expecting some cleaners today; they are new to us so not quite sure what time to expect them. I shall probably make myself scarce and leave DH here to deal with things. I have some bits to take over to DD so can do that whilst they are here.
Once they've gone I want to make some shortbread to take to a friend tomorrow. She has moved a bit closer to us so going to visit her new house and take her out for a pub lunch.
Defrosted a couple of lamb steaks and will have those with a salad later. I seem to have put on about 4lbs(!) lately so will need to shift that before it becomes an extra half a stone!
Enjoy your day everyone.7 -

Morning...sun is shining again. Today is porch day so hopefully I will have my new orange front door by this evening. And I asked for one slightly wider than normal to facilitate moving things without bashing frames. Now I have to find a solution to curtains because the curtain rail in the downstairs bay was crewed into the window frame and obviously, I don't want to do that, but there's not enough room above the bay or enough solid to screwinto there, so it's either add a wooden frame to the ceiling or add a tiny wooden frame there...Neither of these options appeal to me, so I was thinking either shutters, or the yesterday coffee friend showed me these clip in blinds which attach to the inside of the windows...anyone have any experience of these?Coxy, souns lovely, I love entils, OH does not [nor beans so today I'll make a chorizo and bean stew], hope they appreciate it..TA, enoy your unusual jaunt! Gers, beautiful photo! Nancy, that's great minimalist packing! Oops, got to go, they're here...Take care all....Shampoo? No thanks, I'll have real poo...8

Taff just seen your post I have just had the clip in blinds fitted in my kitchen I have a big window at one end and patio doors with a window either side and a window at the bottom I can’t really explain bit one side of the kitchen is a wall of glass I didn’t want to be going in and out of the patio doors and blinds clashing about my kitchen is a large extension and it’s cold I got pale grey ones they are blackout and thermal and what a difference they have made to the kitchen it was definitely warmer in the winter and if the doors are open on a breezy day no blowing or clashing about best things I have ever bought highly recommended9

Thanks Izzy, can you tell me where you got them from please and whether they obscure a lot fo the glass or not? OH is owrried about the light in the mornings...
Shampoo? No thanks, I'll have real poo...7
