Rightmove listing date

Hi all
Does anyone know if the EA/Rightmove can change the date on your listing? I ask because in 2020 my EA was able to do just that. My original buyer dropped out and the house went back on the market with a new date as the break down was no fault of my own. My in-laws are now trying to sell their house and the buyer has gone awol. My m-i-l wants the house back on the market and asked if the date could be changed as it would look bad if the original date in on the listing i.e. people will think there is a problem with the house. The EA has said the date cannot be changed.
Thoughts?
Thank you

https://hub.rightmove.co.uk/5-things-every-agent-on-rightmove-needs-to-know/ bottom point: "We have rules in place to stop agents relisting properties in an attempt to make the “added on” date more recent. That’s why if a property for sale is added again within a 14 week period, we list it with the original “added on” date. However, we recognise that fall throughs do happen for many legitimate reasons. Please get in contact with us to see what we can do to help with your property’s exposure."
I suspect the help with property exposure would be to pay for featured property status- Mortgage: 1st one down, 2nd also busted

Swagbucks, Mingle, GiffGaff, Prolific, Qmee & Quidco; thank you MSE every little bit helps1 -
I think the house has to be off rightmove for a certain time before it can be a new listing date. The new listing would also cost the estate agent.2

House near me was marked STC about six weeks ago. Sale has fallen through and back on Rightmove with “added today” on it. I think there must be a workaround.

One way around this is to list with a new EA1

Looks like it can be relisted with new date if it was unavailable for seven weeks. So I think as long as it was STC for seven weeks it can be relisted with a new date.Your estate agent needs to follow the instructions on the link.1

Hi all
Just to update. The EA was able to relist the property with the date change. This was after my m-i-l showed them the relevant info from Rightmove. So it is possible!2
