Thats a shame, had some weird message about my wifes name not being the same as the one used to log in with. So it wouldn't let me open it.

Do you currently hold an account with them which has been open and active for 12+ months? YBS goes off the date of your oldest currently open account rather than the age of your membership for online loyalty accounts

Didn't know that have been with them for years but my oldest open active account my Loyalty Regular Saver was opened on 20th July 22.  Yet they sent me an email offering me the Loyalty Bond the other day.

Talk about timing! The online application would've likely worked from tomorrow, but as you've said it is being withdrawn at midnight.

Did they email you to offer the loyalty bond, or to offer the loyalty ebond? Usually they struggle to detect it for online accounts, but existing customers can open the postal/branch bond as a colleague would manually check for closed accounts I suppose.

If you're lucky, you might be able to open one a few seconds past midnight. Depends when YBS actually take it off sale.

Had a genius idea. Initially I wanted to open this account in my wifes name to take advantage of her starter rate for savings. Im already maxed out for interest for this tax year.
 But the interest for this account will be paid next tax year, so ive opened a joint account to fund now, then next tax year ill move my instant access savings to her. Just need to set a reminder to sort it all in April.

Account open says it will be available tomorrow. 

Interestingly it said this on the confirmation page:

"Please note: If we have not received your opening deposit within 42 days, your account will be closed."

I assume the 7 days funding window is the more up to date info.

@forumuser7 Yes they emailed me a couple of days ago and then again today telling me they were taking it off of sale at midnight and if I wanted to apply to open it before then and then I had 7 days to fund it.

Until my Loyalty YBS RS matures next month, I have no decent sum worth locking away, so I'll have to pass on this one.

I'm sure it'll be surpassed in August anyway, if it's not already. Not looked tbh

I'm the same.  But if we already have a Loyalty product we should be eligible?  I did email them this afternoon so maybe they'll sort it.
