Habito, Halifax and employment history proof - help needed

Hi, we're having a nightmare with Habito and our application through them for a mortgage with the halifax, and I'm hoping someone may be able to help.
Due to one of us being employed through a family business, the halifax have requested the employment history through the HMRC. We've had no guidance from Habito with respect to what to send (plus they didn't send the initial documents for 3 weeks, but that's another story), so we initially sent the year-by-year run down from the HMRC website, showing 5 years, each in a separate document with a monthly breakdown. But, it turns out this isn't the correct one. They want just simple yearly breakdowns but also mentioned it being an official document or letter.
We have sent over the year-by-year breakdown from the HMRC site now, which seems to match the description that we've been given. But we've no idea if it's the right one or whether we need to apply for the one through the post (which can take up to 40 days, according to the HMRC website).
Is there anyone who has been through this, or a broker that may be able to help? We're stressing out here due to the delays caused by Habito anyway, and need to get things sorted before we miss out on the property we want to buy. Any help or advice will be much appreciated.

If you have been there for 5 years that is a very bizarre request. Surely P60s would do the job? I could understand if you had been there less than maybe 12 months or so.
What you describe is not something I have ever been asked for. We have had to get proof of earnings from HMRC but that just shows a year to date figure I think from memory (its been a while).I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. It's actually been longer than 5 years, I think it's because of it being a family business (ltd co) there's the extra proof needed.0

I get that there is a family link. But the general concern in these cases is that you have just been "employed" to inflate income. Most lenders want 3-6 months, as a company we say 12 months just to ensure we are not complicit in anything untoward.
5 years plus and P60s should be plenty. If we were the brokers we would go back and argue that requirement as being OTT and P60s should be more than enough.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. It sounds like they are asking for an SA302 for each year provided in paper form by HMRC.I presume the motivation is because of the family connection they do not regard anything issued by the employer, like a P60, as trustworthy.0

I just spoke to the halifax direct, just to get their advice. Apparently all they need is a pdf of paye history summary page on the HMRC site, rather than the month to month thing. The person I spoke to seemed quite surprised there was any confusion, so sounds like something Habito should have be able to advise themselves!

That sounds a lot less problematic that what you were hearing from Habito. As long as the person you were speaking to at Halifax understood the point about the family business...

Ha, don't say that! I've been feeling a bit more confident we were on the right track up to now0
