CoPart scrappage Valuation
insurers transferred my accident damaged vehicle to CoPart for assessment. When i reas that, I could tell it’s already been decided to write it off as they are a salvage company. And so it was, cat s.
Anyone had any negative experiences with CoPart trying to undervalue a vehicle. They seem intent on down playing a value, and when i proved them wrong, following their convoluted processes, they claim within 48hrs to review, a week later … silence, they are still dragging their heels and creating difficult stipulations for a re-review. Claiming they can’t read the email. Even seen a salvage on their own site with a similar model valued higher than my own.
It’s like they are doing anything in their power to ensure they make a profit.

Not sure it's possible to compare the value of your damaged vehicle with a different vehicle at Copart.Deleted_Userlj said:Even seen a salvage on their own site with a similar model valued higher than my own.

They give an estimate of the vehicles retail value when repaired.

Think that’s part of their hope, that you don’t have any way to prove undervalue so they can make the market value claim, knowing it’s hard to disprove. Particularly difficult for comparison purposes as mine has options on it so like for like is luck of the draw. They’ve even claimed the models are differentsevenhills said:

Selling privately - £3179.00
Part exchange - £3042.00
I paid £2,500 for it about four years ago, Ebay and I thought it was cheap at the time.

Dueto it being 8 years old, I gave them small dealer value and used the upper range of glass, Parker’s ranges. I’ve followed their own process and shown with examples it is worth more, they upped it £400 and said that was market value, which is comical as they stated it was market value on the first valuation, they admitted they didn’t even look at my examples. And they will ask it to be reviewed one last time. Wonder what happens if I refuse the last offer.sevenhills said:Deleted_Userlj said:Think that’s part of their hope, that you don’t have any way to prove undervalue so they can make the market value claim, knowing it’s hard to disprove.
