Travelscope Holidays in Administration

Options
I have just found this article on the BBC news website. Luckily the company is ABTA bonded , so people should get their money back. :-

It was said on the news this morning that about 10,000 people will lose their holidays. Some had booked to go over Christmas and new year.

  • Just last night we arrived back from a travelscope holiday, and I must admit thought it strange that the rep travelled back with us.He had been in a realy miserable mood the whole of our stay so perhaps he knew about it.Im just so glad I didnt book for the over Christmas week, like we were going to or like the turkey we may have been well and truly stuffed. It's a shame as I always found them realy good.

The good news is that everyone who has booked and paid will (eventually) get their money back, either via the ATOL or ABTA schemes, according to the administrators who have been in discussion with the CAA and ABTA.

The bad news is that anyone that works for the business will lose their jobs if the business can't be sold on as a going concern.

Hope things work out for everyone caught up in this business failure.

I hope those out of jobs find a new one soon, was an article on the news about an upset couple loosing their holiday but if people will be refunded then at least they will get something back, the staff won't.
One day I might be more organised...........

Agreed, and it really couldn't happen at a worse time of year.

My parents have travelled with Travelscope numerous times, and have found their staff, both at home and overseas, to be well organised and very professional.
    Gone ... or have I?
  • i prefer DIY holidays. You pay the supplier direct and secure the holiday, not let the middleman with your dosh spend it and go belly up
  • of course there is ATOL protection.

One woman on the radio last night said her child was "devastated" that it couldnt go to Germany.

    Hardly the great flood now.
