UKPC Ltd PCN - Not Parking In Bay (Photos Included)
SHawking
I (as notice to keeper) received this delightful PCN today from UK Parking Control Ltd (UKPC).
Hypothetically I gave my car to someone who used it to go to their local gym, with the car park being designated for the gym's customers/members. UKPC are now claiming the car wasn't parked within the correct bay markings - see the PCN they sent attached and the photos they provided on their website.
I have already contacted the gym for help (though they are usually unresponsive so not much hope here), but do I have any other options here? Appeal? Or should I just pay the ridiculous charge?
Many thanks for any help

Hello and welcome.
What does this mean... "Hypothetically I gave my car to someone..."?
OK, I guess you weren't driving, but why 'hypothetically'?2 -
It's UKPC/DCB Legal scamming duo. Go through the motions as advised in the Newbies/FAQ thread, appeal to POPLA, lose that appeal, weather the inevitable wave of useless debt collector letters, get your LoC, rebut that and then wait for the court claim. Defend the claim with the robust template defence and then prepare your WS whilst waiting for the inevitable discontinuance.
Nothing to see here... move along.DCB LEGAL RECORD OF PRIVATE PARKING COURT CLAIM DISCONTINUATIONS

Sorry, as I understood it from the newbie thread, you should never admit that you were driving the car. I've probably misunderstood that, so apologies. You can disregard the hypothetically.KeithP said:Hello and welcome.

Just use the template appeal in the NEWBIES thread. No case is any different.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

My thinking is that I wasn't even blocking another bay (it was the last bay in the row), so there is no commercial reason to fine me - as I did not deprive them of revenue, or block anyone from parking of entering their car (in fact the reason the car was parked to the side slightly was to allow easier access for the driver next to me).

You haven't been "fined". If you believe you have, please send me £100 for each instance of the word"fine" that appears in all the paperwork you have received about this to date. I will not hold my breath in anticipation of receiving anything from you.
What you have received and are defending against is a speculative invoice for an alleged breach of contract from an unregulated private parking company. They hope you are a gullible victim who will buckle under the pressure they try to apply by making you poop your pants at the threat of court action and using scary words like "CCJ" and "bailiffs".2 -
A couple of weeks ago, a judge kicked out a UKPC claim saying that their claims were ridiculous and just a way to extort moneySHawking said:I (as notice to keeper) received this delightful PCN today from UK Parking Control Ltd (UKPC).

This is another UKPC ridiculous claim.
Your Merc had one wheel at the front over the line but had you parked totally within the lines, the car next you , the driver would find it difficult to open their door. as with most car parks the bays are far too small for modern cars especially the big 4x4 buses
You have not blocked the area on the drivers side as there is no bay
Sadly, this is one of UKPC's goons desperate to earn a bonus, and we know UKPC pays commission, they did a video on it.
THE SIGN .... typical rubbish from UKPC where you need binoculars to read them, similar comments made by judges
It's early days for you,
